Can you believe it?

Ukrainian teacher Oleksandr Zhuk received a Global Teacher Award! It’s an international prize for teachers who make a significant impact in their field. This year, over 10,000 teachers from more than 100 countries competed to get it.

Oleksandr Zhuk comes from the Ukrainian city Zaporizhzhia where he teaches computer science for children with hearing impairment.

Three years ago, he was called the best teacher in Ukraine. In 2019, Oleksandr made it into top-50 out of 36,000 (!) contestants of the Global Teacher Prize — an international award, informally known as the Nobel Prize for teachers.

As Oleksandr says, a perfect teacher is a partner for children, who needs to be modern, big on communication, good at teamwork and adapting to changes.
